Meet Elliott & Karin Griffin
Elliott Griffin has spent his career working and winning in and around the Texas Capitol. In his capacity as a Chief of Staff in both chambers, a senior director in a presiding officer’s administration, or a contract lobbyist and campaigner, Elliott has repeatedly proven that he has the instincts and insights to move people to action, sell an idea, and find a way to win. His unique experiences in leadership at the highest levels of Texas politics as well as his success in the private sector have allowed him to cultivate a dynamic combination of policy, communications, and strategy expertise that now serves his clients.
Before setting out on his own, Elliott was most recently the Chief Operating Officer at a public affairs firm performing traditional and digital communications, grassroots, and government relations work on behalf of a diverse set of clients spanning industries such as telecom, electricity, healthcare, insurance, transportation, animal welfare and construction.
As they say around the Capitol, Elliott was “House broken” and “Senate trained” having begun his legislative career in the Texas House before heading to the east wing to work in the Texas Senate. Before heading a Senator’s office, Elliott was fortunate enough to work as a senior director in the Office of the Lt. Governor, responsible for all external affairs activity across the state. Having this comprehensive legislative experience, and seeing the process from almost every possible vantage point, has served Elliott’s clients well as his understanding of the people, processes, and politics that drive each chamber is unmatched in his field.
Elliott has also worked on legislative and statewide campaigns, doing everything from entry-level field work to managing statewide political and get-out-the-vote operations and consulting. Notably, Elliott worked on Governor Rick Perry’s successful 2010 reelection campaign, as well as Dan Patrick’s first campaign for Lt. Governor in 2014.
Griffin Communications is the culmination of a lifelong pursuit of excellence in creating change that matters, crafting messages that work, and shaping the political and public policy landscapes through winning at the ballot box and inside the Capitol.
